India's support to Nepali Maoists is a big mistake in history: Former Major General GD Bakshi

Sushil Khanal, | May 22,
An expression of former Indian Army General Gagan Deep Baksi has become a topic of discussion not only in India but also in Nepal. As the border dispute between Nepal and India is escalating, former General Bakshi has argued that destroying the Hindu nation in Nepal and establishing the Maoists is a big mistake in the history of Nepal.

"It was our big mistake to overthrow the Hindu state and establish the Maoists," Bakshi told ABP News. "Supporting the Maoists was a self-defeating goal." He said the communists had challenged India by bringing China to Nepal. "I can honestly say that this was a self-defeating goal by India," he said. Got the fruit now! '
He argued that India was being punished for sending leftists from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University to establish the Maoists. He said, "While we were fighting the Maoists in Chhattisgarh, it was a mistake to send communists from JNU to Nepal during the Congress rule."
Among the established communist leaders in Nepali politics, they have returned after studying at JNU. Former Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai studied at JNU. JNU used to have a lot of Maoist leaders at that time. Bamdev Chhetri, who works in the library there, was arrested during the Maoist People's War.
With such a history of the past, Baksi's statement is meaningful. On top of that, he is considered close to Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

He clarified that there could be no war under any circumstances as Nepal, the only Hindu nation in the world, has blood relations not only with India's bread and butter. He said that war is impossible as we have blood ties with Nepal. Nepal's Gurkha soldiers reminded that they have been shedding blood for India and said that past mistakes should be rectified. He repeatedly stressed the need to protect the status of the only Hindu nation in the world.
He repeatedly said that the communists had given place to China in Nepal. He also accused China of spending billions on Nepal.

Each Nation have Equal Status at the International level and as a Sovereign Power

A country may be smaller or larger than its area, population, military strength, economic status, but all countries have equal status at the international level and as a sovereign power. Nepal and India have given a lot to each other, the problem of #Nepal India friendship can be of benefit to any third country, so we should move forward with mutual understanding of each other's feelings.
Indian foreign policy has been looking very weak for the last few years. Nepal is also a huge market for India. In my opinion, Nepal imports about 70% -80% of essential goods from India and exports 30%-20%. The
#Gorkha_Regiment, which is world renowned, has been sacrificing itself for the security of the Indian border. We have a very deep relationship and it should not be spoiled. It seems that the media has started doing the job of Indian judiciary. Because all the decisions are being taken by Indian media. Indian media has got a good job for the last few days, which was not needed. As the issue of the border dispute was to be resolved in a diplomatic way in both the countries, the media created an uproar that relations are getting worse. The army chief is making statements like a political worker. Let's talk about Manisha Koirala that, a person who resides in any country, he\she supports his\her country. If someone lives in another country, he sells his labor, not self-respect. For an example, if an Indian lives in another country, does he not support India? Like that, Manisha Koirala has also supported Nepal which is common. Nepal is a nation who is good neighbor of India, otherwise how does India have relations with Bangladesh, Pakistan and China. Everyone knows? The high level committee should take decisions on the issue of borders, not the media or the army. Because India is a republic nation, not a military ruled nation. The general public or any person can give his\her opinion and support to his country, but the decision should not be given to without knowing anything. At ground level we all knows that we have a great relation to each other as family members, we have to make it stronger instead of making it weak.#जय_देश #जय_नेपाल
